Sauna facilities
Finnish sauna
It’s a classic among steam bath! The word “sauna” comes from the Finnish language and means “wooden room.” The walls are made of wooden boards, so the air humidity is lower. This makes it possible to withstand the high temperatures (approx. 95 °C / 200 °F) in the Finnish sauna.
Temperature: 80- 100 °C (176 – 212 °F)
Relative air humidity: 10-15%
Kelo sauna
The Kelo sauna is another Finnish invention. However, the difference between it and “normal” Finnish saunas is to be found in the kind of wood used to build it: Kelo is the name of the original Finnish pine trees which have to grow for up to 500 years before they are considered suitable for use in building a Kelo sauna.
Temperature: 100 °C (212 °F)
Relative air humidity: approx. 10%
Bio sauna
The Bio sauna (also known as a “Sanarium”) is an extremely pleasant form of sauna that can help your body regenerate. The Bio sauna is a “soft sauna,” with a moderate air humidity of about 50% and a temperature of 55 °C (131 °F). Aromatic scents are added to boost your physical and mental well-being. It is also suitable as a preliminary to using the conventional Finnish sauna.
Temperature: 55 °C (131 °F)
Relative air humidity: 50%
Steam bath
The “classic” steam bath that we all know and love. At a temperature of 45 °C (113 °F) and a relative air humidity of almost 100%, a steam bath helps to detoxify your tissues and stabilize your whole organism. Herbal scents in the air will vitalize your skin and hair. At the same time, they help open up your air ways.
Temperature: 45- 48 °C (113 – 118 °F)
Relative air humidity: 90- 100%
Heat bath
In this treatment, heat rays stimulate your blood circulation without overburdening your system – and all without high temperatures. This helps your body to relax and regenerate. The heat bath is the ideal preliminary to other forms of sauna. It warms the body in a gentle fashion and helps boost your immune system.
Temperature: 38- 45 °C (100 – 113 °F)
Relative air humidity: 10- 20%
Immersion pool
After a session in the sauna, what better way to refresh yourself than to plunge into the cold water of our immersion pool? The “trick” here is the rapid alternation of temperatures achieved when exiting the sauna and entering our immersion pool or taking a cold shower. This slight “cold shock” stimulates your circulatory system and has a positive impact on your metabolism. You’ll feel better because the increased perspiration also helps detoxify your tissues.
Infrared chamber
Among the latest developments in the field of saunas are the thermal applications possible with infrared chambers. At the wellness oasis at Sport Well in Mals / Malles, you can also stretch out and enjoy yourself in our infrared chambers. It’s a wonderful experience that activates all your senses: You are exposed to warm air in the low-temperature range. This produces a pleasant effect for your skin and circulatory system.
